about

There are no jobs on a dead planet...

Humanity has come to the Capitalocene, a time of existential crisis. The capitalist system is responsible for extreme climate change and for the Earth's sixth mass extinction event, contributing to enormous ecological suffering. We now face head on the catastrophe of global warming. Misleading information can be directly traced to particular special interest groups. Corporations, including Exxon Mobil, have known since the 1970s that burning oil and gas could cause climate change and global warming, but nonetheless they fund disinformation efforts. The crossroads we face reveals how deeply social and economic issues are interwoven with ecology. The most disadvantaged members of society are directly affected by climate change and suffer the most. The never-ending war of imperialism and undermined democracy is considered the norm. There is systematic hostility towards refugees; racial and gender violence run deep; and the wealth gap grows larger everyday . We need rapid, systemic transformation that tackles the stratification of wealth and power, placing decarbonisation and equity at the forefront. A sustainable future requires social ecology and ecosocialism.

If we do not do the impossible, we shall be faced with the unthinkable. ... more
